Mt. Carmel Area Jr. /Sr. High school has been awarded a nearly $70,000 grant from Project 720. Project 720 ensures that all students have access to college-preparatory courses, Advanced Placement courses and smaller learning environments for better teacher-to-student interaction. It also helps districts lead the way in making the curriculum more challenging and improving the learning environment. The 720 stands for the number of days a student is in school from the beginning of 9 th grade until the end of 12 th grade. Project 720 is staffed by former Project PEARL personnel, Ms. Maria Scicchitano, Mrs. Trina Leshinsky, and Mr. Gene McGee. They are very excited to help students with furthering their education by planning college visits, having different college representatives visit our school, filling out applications, and preparing resumes. They will be hosting PSSA, PSAT, and SAT reviews. There will also be a job fair for students continuing in the work force after high school. For more information, please stop in the new Career Center in room 225.
