It’s natural to show love and care on Valentine’s Day. Students in Mrs. Varner’s 8th grade science classes did just that. The classes created colorful Valentine’s Day cards for area veterans. The cards are designed and crafted by students; then the creatively decorated cards are sent to area veterans at nursing homes and hospitals. In some cases the cards are shown to the veterans on a power point presentation or they are distributed personally to each veteran. This is the third year Mrs. Varner has done this project with her classes and she is very pleased with their success. It’s a nice way to express creativity and a wonderful way to communicate our thanks to those who have served our country.
